Hello and welcome to the wonderful world of the Dogpound.
There are always interesting ideas around to attract business. One of the unique ones comes from the Colorado State Lottery, where they are featuring scratch-off tickets that have a “scratch and sniff” odor. They will start with coffee, and then in subsequent games, there will be flowers and chocolate. I can see it now: “Look, honey, I spent $5 on scratch tickets and did not win a thing, but boy, do I smell good.” Plus, there is a secondary effect; it will also cover up the scent of the player’s burning money!
Then with the price of gasoline reaching all-time highs, it has now become the new give-away prize; some car dealerships are offering $2.99 gasoline for three years with any purchases, and to show you just how bad it is getting, Nevada brothels are offering long-haul truckers gas cards to boost a business that has declined as much as 25% from last year. Just imagine what is going to happen when we get to $5 a gallon? Oh my!
Thought for the Week

Bad Global Warming
We have all heard the news about how bad global warming has become, melting the ice caps and threating the nice polar bears, but here is something I bet you did not know: it could cause a rise in kidney stone incidents. Yep, they believe that with the increasing warm weather, we will drink more water, which means we will get more minerals in our system, and thus more chances to develop kidney stones. [Now I know having kidney stones is no laughing matter, but this story cracked me up.]
Elderly Help
My brother-in-law noticed an elderly lady slowly pushing a cart through the supermarket parking lot. Trying to be courteous, he insisted on taking it over for her as she struggled alongside, doing her best to keep up.
At the entrance, he said, “Here you go, ma’am,” and gave her the cart.
Catching her breath, she said, “Thank you, but I was using it to lean on.”
Knowledge is Power
The pilot was sitting in his seat and pulled out a .38 revolver. He placed it on top of the instrument panel, and then asked the navigator, “Do you know what I use this for?”
The navigator replied timidly, “No, what’s it for?”
The pilot responded, “I use this on navigators who get me lost!”
The navigator proceeded to pull out a .45 and place it on his chart table. The pilot asked, “What’s that for?”
“To be honest sir,” the navigator replied, “I’ll know we’re lost before you will.”
That is a wrap. As always be good, play safe, and remember to be careful when you read the ads.
