Max Learns Something New

Hello and welcome back to the Dogpound, where you can learn something new every day.
For example, ever use aluminum foil or saran wrap and eventually have the roll come flying out of the box?  Then you put it back in and now it is a bit crooked and one end won’t turn, or you have to hold the lid shut with one hand to avoid a repeat. Well, did you know that none of that aggravation is necessary?  If you look at the end of the box, you will find a statement “Press here to lock end.” There is a locking tab that you can push in to keep the roll from coming out of the box.  How long has it been there?  Don’t know!  But I have cursed many a box of foil and saran wrap for being a pain, when in reality, I could have solved the problem and decreased my blood pressure.

Learn something new every day, or you might say “Foiled again!”

Thought of the Week
“The idea is there locked inside. All you have to do is remove the excess stone.”
– Michelangelo

Okay, Forget What I Just Said
After the accident, I told the police officer I thought the driver of the other vehicle was drunk. He told me the other vehicle was a cow.

Justice is Served
A junior partner in a law firm was sent to a faraway country to represent a long-term client accused of robbery. After days of trial, the case was won, the client acquitted and released. Excited about his success, the attorney emailed the firm: “Justice prevailed.”

The senior partner replied in haste, “Appeal immediately.”

Problem Solved
Two elderly women were fussing about their husbands over tea one day. “I do wish my Leroy would stop biting his nails. That makes me terribly nervous!” the first one said.

“Oh, my Elmer used to do the same thing,” the other woman commented. “But I broke him of that habit real quick.”

“What did you do?”

“I hid his teeth!”

The Truth Hurts
A lady was walking past a pet store when a parrot said, “Hey, lady! You’re really ugly!”

The lady was furious and continued on her way. On the way home, she passed by the pet store again and the parrot once more said “Hey, lady! You’re really ugly!” She was incredibly upset now, so she went into the store and said that she would sue the store and kill the bird. The store manager apologized profusely and promised he would make sure the parrot didn’t say it again.

The next day, she deliberately passed by the store to test the parrot. “Hey, lady!” it said.

“Yes?”

“You know.”

Time to wrap things up.  As always be good, play safe, and remember the little tabs; you will avoid a lot of frustration.
