| Jasmine Edwards was selected as an all-star at Keystone State Basketball Camp. |
Point guard Jasmine Edwards recently attended the Keystone State Invitational Basketball Camp in Williamsport, Pa. and was named an All-Star during the five-day event.
“I was very excited to be selected to attend the camp and to be selected as an All Star,” says Edwards. “It made me feel good and confident about myself.”
A freshman at Thomas Dale High School, Edwards was invited to attend the camp after college scouts watched her play during an Exposure tournament. This was her first camp.
“Jasmine had gotten an invitation last year, but she was still in middle school then. The camp was five days long and we just thought that she was too young then to attend the camp,” says Renell Edwards, Jasmine’s mother.
Playing basketball since she was nine, Edwards started playing for Chester Presbyterian Church and later landed a role on the Chester Middle School team. In sixth grade, her coach suggested that she be on an AAU – a travel – team. Edwards currently plays for an AAU team, as well as the Junior Varsity team at Thomas Dale; she has also been invited to accompany Thomas Dale’s varsity team to their camp at VCU on August 2.
