Entrepreneurs of all ages will be selling crafts at the holiday bazaar.

Though it might be hard to imagine, it’s almost that time of year again: the Jingle Bell Bazaar is fast-approaching. Now in its 17th year, the wildly popular event will be returning to Ecoff Elementary School on December 6.

Over 110 vendors will be converging on the school for the bazaar, which event coordinator Lori Patton says will boast jewelry, candy, Christmas ornaments, wreaths, furniture, fudge, baked goods, and more. In addition to selling their wares, many vendors will also be offering them as door prizes; and Boy Scout Troop 2819 will offer concessions for sale.

The Jingle Bell Bazaar is sponsored by the Ecoff Elementary PTA, and benefits a number of the school’s larger projects. “This year, the proceeds are going to all-new books in the library,” says Lori Patton, PTA president and bazaar coordinator (along with her husband, Jeff Patton). “We’re also looking at getting some new playground equipment.” In the past, bazaar proceeds have helped purchase computers on wheels for each grade level.

Preparation for the bazaar is quite extensive; a team of nearly 50 volunteers, mostly parents of Ecoff Elementary students, begins work on next year’s bazaar almost as soon as the event has finished. “It’s a year-long process!” says Patton. “It runs very smoothly every year, though.”

And all that work, Patton hopes, will pay off when the bazaar rolls around this year. “We hope to be as successful as we have been in the past,” she says. “The Chester community really enjoys this event.”

The Jingle Bell Bazaar is scheduled for December 6 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Ecoff Elementary School, 5200 Ecoff Ave. Admission is a $1 donation at the door.
