The precinct changes requested by
Chesterfield
County to improve the voting
process have been approved by the United States Department of Justice. These
changes included moving four polling places and opening four new precincts (one
approval for a new precinct had been previously received.)
“All of the changes are voter-friendly and intended to
provide a more positive experience for the voters through improved parking,
easier access, and overall better facilities,” General Registrar Larry Haake
says. “We believe these changes will be well received by the voters affected in
November.”
“Voter patience is going to be a necessity this November.
Having a heavier than normal voter turnout is a very positive development in
our electoral process,” Haake said. “We are doing what we can to minimize wait
times and improve the overall process with increased workers and new
procedures.”
Changes are in certain precincts in the
Bermuda,
Dale, and Matoaca Districts. Notices to voters affected will be mailed in the
