Brandon DeHart enjoyed the balloon hats and the train rides at the Tuesday night event.
One hundred and thirty block parties were registered for Chesterfield County’s National Night Out last Tuesday.  One of the biggest was held at Bensley Community Center off Drewry’s Bluff Rd.  Over 200 neighbors and guests attended the event.  Along with covered dishes provided by neighbors, hot dogs and sodas were provided by Genworth Financial Home Equity Access Inc. and Dupont Advanced Fiber Systems. Families were able to receive safety tips from the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Department, the F.B.I., Crime Solvers, and the Chesterfield County Juvenile Service Department.

Live music was provided along with children’s events that included train rides from the Tractor Club and balloon animals from Dimples the Clown.

Special guests included Chesterfield County Police Chief Thierry G. Dupuis, Chesterfield Sheriff Dennis L. Proffitt, Bermuda District Supervisor Dorothy Jaeckle, and Republican gubernatorial candidate Bob McDonnell.  Supervisor Jaeckle made a quick visit and left to attend an additional four events occurring in the Bermuda District.
