CBA member Leonard McAdams presented Chris Habenicht of Hopson, Habenicht, and Cave Attorneys at Law, with their May Business of the Month award.
Scott Hevener, CPA and partner with Goodman & Company, welcomed and played host for members and their guests from the Chester Business Association (CBA) during an open house at the new offices in Festival Park.  CBA holds a monthly gathering on the third Thursday of each month for members to socialize and catch up on events at a member’s business.  Hevener invited the membership to his company’s new offices for their May meeting.

Goodman & Company was the first company to locate in the new complex of offices, businesses, and apartments at Festival Park.  The complex is part of the Village Green, and was developed by George Emerson and his company, Emerson Builders.

The CPA firm, formerly West, Crawley, and Winn, CPAs, merged with Goodman & Company last year.  The firm was committed to the relocation before the merger.  The merger brought partners and employees from the Colonial Heights location.  The Festival Park office, which is housed on three floors, has 30 employees.  Hevener says they are very delighted with their new location and looks forward to more businesses moving into the Park.

Also, during the meet and greet, the CBA’s Business of the Month was recognized by member Leonard McAdams.  McAdams presented the award to Chris Habenicht of Hopson, Habenicht, and Cave Attorneys at Law.  Habenicht was a founding member of CBA and served on the board for several years.

Accepting the award, Habenicht recognized two of his staff members.  “Janet K. Wall, with us for 25 years and Deborah L. Cribb, a five-year veteran, [are] two outstanding and indispensable paralegals,” he says.  Habenicht has also been a 20-year member of the Central Chesterfield Kiwanis Club, serving as treasurer.

CBA will be holding their annual year-end picnic June 19.  They will be recognizing the Businessperson of the Year during the event.  For more information on joining the CBA or future events, call Scott Fisher at 748-7083.
