Dr. Matt Pastore
For the past thirteen years, Breckenridge Chiropractic has run a blood drive, and the tradition is no different this year. But there is one big change for 2008: the blood drive will be held in conjunction with a day-long, 15th anniversary celebration.
“We’re very, very happy to have reached this milestone!” says Mary Anne Pastore, marketing and public relations director at Breckenridge. “Chester has been good to us. We have wonderful patients and a great community.”
The event, which will be held at Breckenridge Chiropractic on July 24 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., will include food, free blood pressure screenings, free scoliosis screenings, spinal exams, free consultations for new patients, and prizes. The 13th annual Breckenridge Chiropractic Blood Drive will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. And there’s an extra bonus for anyone who gives blood: donors receive $35 off services at Breckenridge. All blood donors must sign up for an appointment by calling the Breckenridge office at 748-2763.
What became a thriving business serving 200 patients a week originally began as a part-time clinic owned by Dr. Hugh Kline; Dr. Mathias Pastore and his wife purchased the clinic and turned it into a full-time location of their own. The Breckenridge Shopping Center location served them well for a time, but when business became too much to handle, they realized that it was time to expand. Their current location in the Bermuda Crossroads Shopping Center is about three times the size of the original, and offers four treatment rooms and two spinal decompression rooms.
Breckenridge Chiropractic’s ability to offer spinal decompression is one of the things that sets the business off from the pack, Pastore says. “Spinal decompression isn’t offered very often in a lot of chiropractic offices,” she explains. “Patients have an excellent response to it. It’s an alternative to surgery; it decompresses discs in the spine and helps healing.” Breckenridge Chiropractic also has the most advanced spinal decompression machine currently on the market.
But, Pastore says, that’s not the only reason the business has seen such success over 15 years. “I think we’re successful because we give excellent service and we treat our patients like family,” she says. “We take pride in the fact that they’re getting not just good care, but excellent care, from the time they walk in the door. We give a lot of attention to our patients.”
Breckenridge Chiropractic follows patients throughout the full line of treatment. On their list of offerings are free consultations, exams and x-rays (if necessary), reported findings, spinal manipulations, trigger point therapy, intersegmental traction, and rehabilitative exercises, as well as spinal decompression.
For the Pastores, every day is a new chance to educate people on the benefits of chiropractic – which extend far beyond easing joint and back pain. “With chiropractic, your entire body starts feeling better,” Pastore says. “If you get your body moving, you start seeing wonderful, positive side effects all over.”
Breckenridge Chiropractic is located at 12300 Bermuda Crossroads Ln. and is open Mondays through Thursdays from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2-6 p.m. and Fridays, 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-4 p.m. For more information, call the office at 748-2763 or visit breckenridgechiro.com.
