Environment Canada has issued a Freezing Rain Warning for London and surrounding areas as a system moves in Tuesday night.
We expect freezing rain to start moving into our West Zone around midnight. It's not until Wednesday night or even Thursday morning when the temperature at cloud level gets below freezing where it changes to light snow or flurries with little to no accumulation. Several hours of freezing rain are expected before it ends later this afternoon or this evening. The agency predicts a modest amount snow and sleet will make driving conditions hazardous across northern IL.
This means that "highways, roads, walkways and parking lots" are likely going to become icy and inevitably risky and slippery.
The Kettle Creek Conservation Authority (KCCA) says flooding has been observed in some low-lying areas and officials are monitoring an ice jam north of Port Stanley.
