DeChambeau leads going into final round in Dubai

Bryson DeChambeau

DeChambeau is the world number five

DeChambeau described his first-round 66 as "scrappy" and he still wasn't happy a day later despite moving into first place. I was like seven under through about 11 holes, and it just felt like I was cruising.

"You've got to keep it going".

"Coming back here as a professional, being an amateur in 2016, I believe, I was expecting a lot of good things because I knew I played well here". Two years later, he is being talked about as a Major victor in waiting and has five PGA Tour wins under his belt - all won during a purple patch of 16 months. He has three top-10 finishes in his three tournaments on the PGA Tour this year, and is sounding and appearing as meticulous - some might say overly complicated - as ever.

That man is 49-year-old Ernie Els, and he has far more experience of the Majlis course at the Emirates Golf Course than DeChambeau and most of the rest of the field.

Grizzlies Finally Willing to Trade Marc Gasol and Mike Conley
Conley and Gasol rank No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, in games played for Memphis ( Conley is at 764, Gasol 762 ). Gasol can become a free agent this summer if he opts out of the final year of his current contract.

Three players who know how to win are leading the chase in the second leg of the so-called "Gulf Swing" on the European Tour. "Hopefully I can have one more of those days and maybe even a better ball-striking day".

"I had a couple chances to right the ship and be three or four ahead, but I'm only one ahead".

Els has not won since 2013, but at the scene of his first European Tour title victory 25 years ago remained in the hunt with a birdie at 18 to complete a bogey-free card of 70. The South African turned back the clock as he shot a seven-under 65 to lie just a shot back. "The greens were getting a little firmer, faster, but if you get it in the fairway, you give yourself second-shot opportunities, and the putter has been working for me, so it's been fun".

"Being able to win internationally is something that I've always wanted to do after winning so many times in the States". I'm swinging well, my body feels well.
