U.S. singer Chris Brown was arrested in Paris yesterday with two other people on suspicion of rape, a French police source.

The US rapper was in Paris for Fashion Week when he was arrested alongside two other people, according to reports.

Brown's lawyer and record label, RCA, have not responded to requests for comment.

American singer Chris Brown was released after being detained in Paris over allegations of aggravated rape and drug offenses, judicial sources confirmed to CBS News on Tuesday. She claimed to have met Brown earlier at a nightclub on the street of Rue de Ponthieu.

French celebrity news magazine Closer was the first to report Brown's detention.

On Monday, the Shade Room posted a photo of Brown smiling with his rumored girlfriend Ammika Harris while at Le Cirque Club in Paris.

He pleaded guilty to felony assault of his then-girlfriend, Rihanna, in 2009, and completed his probation in the case in 2015.

More recently, Brown was charged last month in Los Angeles, California, with two misdemeanor counts stemming from his possession of a pet capuchin monkey without a permit. She described the encounter as both "brutal and violent", adding she was then "abused" by one of Chris' friends and a bodyguard.

His rap sheet also includes a 2013 assault charge and a 2018 arrest for felony battery. Brown spent 2½ months in custody, with US marshals shuttling him between Los Angeles and the nation's capital for court hearings.

He was gone by the time police arrived, but a warrant was issued for his arrest.
