Google Assistant on Track to Soon Hit a Billion Devices Milestone

Now, the company, which is attending the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019 in Las Vegas, has announced to bring Google Assistant to Google Maps for both Android and iOS phones.

OK, it's a small coaster, but after a couple years of attending CES, between the Google vending machines, the Google branded monorail, and a bunch of new features for the Google Assistant, it feels like Google is flexing on the world's biggest trade show in a way it never has before. With this feature, users are able to receive translations for dozens of languages and conduct conversations in real time. Using the new "Gently Wake Up" feature, the Philips Hue lights in your bedroom will simulate the sunrise 30 mins before your alarm goes off.

Sonos has started a private beta test of Google Assistant on its smart speakers, and is looking to launch the integration to the public this year.

Users say 'Hey Google, send my ETA, ' and Assistant will text your arrival time to any of your contacts. It can also answer personal queries like traffic updates to work or calendar updates.

Trump makes his case for securing southern border
Republicans said Trump, who passed out candy at the start of the meeting, did not raise his voice and there was no table pounding. He suggested a deal for his border wall might be getting closer, but he also said the shutdown will last "whatever it takes".

Interpreter Mode will be rolling out to Homes and Smart Displays in the coming weeks. Currently, the Interpreter mode can translate between 27 languages in real-time and is slated to work through Google Home speakers such as the Google Home Hub and Google Home Mini. The main aim of the new interpreter mode is not just to translate from one language to the other, but to encourage you to have conversations with those who do not speak the same language as you without having to struggle too much.

Google Assistant Connect will allow Google to put its Assistant on the next generation of smart home devices. Assistant will also be able to give you notifications for things like check-in.

When booking a room, Google Assistant can also take care of that task thanks to its integration with Choice Hotels, AccorHotels, InterContinental Hotels Group, Priceline, Expedia, Mirai and Travelclick. Google also promises to bring support for Google Keep, Any.do, Bring! and Todoist.

A trend quickly developing at CES 2019 is the entry of Amazon Alexa into the auto, with numerous announcements linking the digital assistant into the fundamentals of future vehicles. Do let us know in the comments section.
