Basketball: What kind of reception can Kawhi Leonard expect in his first return to San Antonio?

Gregg Popovich's wish that Spurs fans would treat Kawhi Leonard with "kindness and respect" during his first return to San Antonio last night went unfulfilled.

The Spurs played a tribute video for Leonard and Green prior to the game that ended with "Thank you Danny and Kawhi.".

Kawhi Leonard's return to San Antonio was greeted with vitriol from Spurs faithful.

Leonard helped lead the Spurs to an National Basketball Association championship in 2014 while being named Finals MVP, but played just nine games last season with some rather mysterious injury issues, leading many to believe he, in some way, "quit" on the team. Leonard was cleared by team doctors to play before San Antonio's playoff run but chose to sit out after receiving advice from his personal doctors.

DeRozan had played 764 career games, 675 with the Raptors alone, before accomplishing the milestone.

For much of the early part of the season, while Leonard was getting adjusted to his new teammates, the Raptors essentially had two offenses going. We got some things as a team to look at and get better at. "Doesn't matter what we say, you're going to say whatever you want, so that's a waste of our time". I'm hoping one thing.

"It'll be a pretty rough environment on Kawhi, I imagine". That gives an edge to the Spurs, who are clicking on offense and averaging 115.6 points per game since the start of December. But the past is the past and I'm still playing.I really won't reflect on what has happened until I retire.

Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York City where Kollab graduated a year ago was mortified by Kollab's twisted views. The Cleveland Clinic released a statement condemning Kollab's comments and the medical facility distanced itself from her views.

"Obviously, I had an inside scoop on the type of player he is and what kind of person he is".

DeRozan was cheered on by the Spurs crowd while Raptors superstar Leonard was met with boos and "traitor" chants throughout the game.

"I felt badly about it", Popovich told ESPN about how Leonard was treated by the Spurs fans.

"I just wanted to go out and have fun", said DeRozan.

"Haircut. I'm going to get my hair cut, get some food, might see some friends and family, might be doing a podcast later, we'll see", he said. I'm waiting to see just like everybody else.

"I guess just as much anticipation as you guys have had the first three, four months of the season or so", Green said. However, it sure seemed like he completely quit on the team previous year because he wanted out.
