Doughnut distress that struck the Lexington Police Department earlier this week will be remedied by Krispy Kreme.

A Krispy Kreme doughnut truck went up in flames in Lexington, Kentucky, Monday afternoon on the interstate, local police told WKYT.

Meanwhile, members of the Louisville Metro Police Department were particularly impacted by the tragedy.

Krispy Kreme tweeted back in amusing fashion as well, writing, "We're thinking of you during this hard time...and have more doughnuts on the way!"

Others noted that the doughnuts were really "krispy" after the box truck fire.

The Cleveland police department tweeted, "Praying for you all in this hard moment". Stories appeared on national publications' websites. 'We hope you like sprinkles'.

The University of Kentucky Police Department chimed in with a message of support. "That's what we can do to ease their pain".

The fire occurred near Man o' War Boulevard and Pink Pigeon Parkway causing lane closures.
