Nintendo Switch Becomes The Best-Selling Nintendo Console In The US

Consumer spent more than $250 million on Nintendo products this sale season, crowning Nintendo Switch to have a best-selling week in the States.

Do keep in mind that this result is limited exclusively to online retail and e-commerce, so it's by no means a final judgement on whether the Switch will be the most successful console of the Thanksgiving holiday period. Year-over year, sales of the console over those five days were up by 115%.

And Super Mario Odyssey, which came out past year and has already sold 13 million copies to date, continues to climb back up, with a 25th place spot on the charts and a 110 percent increase in sales. The Nintendo Switch became the best-selling Nintendo console in U.S. history for those five days, even surpassing the Wii, and the system also had its best-selling week ever in the US.

Total installed base for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems hit 22 million.

It's shaping up to be a bountiful holiday season for Nintendo.
