Trump sticks with old playbook in return to campaign trail

Yearbook cheerleader pic allegedly shows GOP Sen. Hyde-Smith at 70s high school segregation academy

Hyde-Smith, a Republican, faces Mike Espy, a Democratic former congressman and agriculture secretary, in Tuesday's runoff in MS - the final Senate race to be decided in 2018. He's been a fan of this team for more than 40 years, but with Johnson owning the team, he's made a decision to financially boycott the franchise following the revelation that Johnson had donated to Mississippi U.S. Senate candidate Cindy Hyde-Smith. MLB's comment provided no explanation as to why the donation was made after Hyde-Smith's comments, and when exactly Major League Baseball chose to ask for it back. Hyde-Smith was sworn into office in April after her appointment by Gov. Phil Bryant.

The comment prompted outrage in a Deep South state scarred by a history of lynchings, and boosted support for Mike Espy, her Democratic challenger.

After midterm election recounts in some southern states, political attention has shifted to Mississippi's special election runoff Tuesday, with Republican Sen.

Monday's Biloxi rally is anticipated to draw hundreds of protesters, the Hill reported.

Trump tweeted about the race at least twice Sunday. He called on his supporters to go out to vote on Tuesday "like it's a holiday". Respected by all. We need her in Washington!. His campaign has focused more on issues such as social justice, health care and raising wages. Espy vows to bring his experience of "diversity" and "inclusion" to the job, qualities he says are lacking in his white Republican opponent.

Hyde-Smith has made some controversial comments during her campaign, including making a reference to a "public hanging".

Punches Thrown and Sidelines Emptied in Ole Miss-Miss St Brawl
The Bulldogs gained 122 yards rushing in the first quarter to set the tone and built a 14-0 lead by early in the second quarter. Ole Miss appeared to score a touchdown on the final play of the quarter as wide receiver A.J.

The Popular Information report also stated Charles B. Johnson, the co-owner of the Giants, recently donated $2,700, the legal maximum to Hyde-Smith; and his wife, Ann, also contributed the maximum to her campaign. Her campaign said the remark about voting was a joke.

The victor finishes the term of Sen. It's the last U.S. Senate race to be decided in 2018 and will determine whether Republicans add to their slim majority. Espy recalled how racist insults were yelled at him and his twin sister, and they were among the 17 black students who integrated the all-white Yazoo City High School in 1969.

About a third of MS voters were African-American in the four-way race on Election Day, and Espy won support from about 80 percent of them, compared to about 20 percent of white voters, according to VoteCast, a wide-ranging survey of the electorate conducted by The Associated Press.

Is she facing other issues?

The Senate race is expected to drive a higher-than-usual turnout for a runoff in Mississippi. More than 43,000 absentee ballots have been requested, and that number could increase as final numbers are tabulated.

Trump had likened the approaching caravans to an "invasion" in the days leading up to the November 6 midterm elections, but critics accused him of exaggerating the threat in order to motivate his base to turn out and vote. MS hasn't elected a Democrat to the U.S. Senate since 1982.
