Look out college hoops: Duke is just getting started

Coach K isn't happy with a play

Barrett scores 33, No. 4 Duke blows out No. 2 Kentucky in season opener

Duke's newcomers never doubted they could win this convincingly.

Bill Self's squad has a few tough matchups ahead, but their next game against a ranked team will come on Saturday, December 15 when they welcome the No. 9 ranked Villanova Wildcats.

The Duke Blue Devils' trio of star freshman - Zion Williamson, RJ Barrett and Cam Reddish - made a statement last night in the Champions Classic, as they combined for 83 points en route to a 118-84 victory against the No. 2 ranked Kentucky Wildcats. Thanks to White's timely rebounds, pinpoint shooting and leadership, Duke shut down one of the most unsafe offenses in the nation and set the tone for what looks to be an explosive season. I have little doubt that Parker will play better as the season wears on but his fit with Chicago will continue to be in question until we get a good enough sample size of Parker-Markkanen-LaVine lineups.

"Obviously we've got to learn how to close a game", Self said, "but I thought we had some really good performances out there". "We know what we have". Tre Jones had seven assists and no turnovers. He was a terror in transition, he was unstoppable when he turned the corner and he oh-by-the-way hit 3-of-7 threes. When he answered Self, the coach responded by asking how Dotson can be an extension "if you don't believe what I think is important?"

The same can be said about Williamson, although that wasn't necessarily a given entering the season.

Duke freshmen R.J. Barrett, left, and Zion Williamson are already at the top of the list of National Basketball Association draft prospects. However, he says fans should not question whether United Kingdom players do care about winning. Travis didn't stand a chance, which is a problem because anyone that actually had a prayer of keeping Zion in front bounced off the mini-coopers that he calls shoulders like my three-year old bounces off a trampoline. He's not going to shoot 11-of-13 from the floor every night.

Teen 'kills mum after arguing over bad school grade'
Chitwood said the teen left school early on Friday to stage a burglary at the home where he killed his mother, police said. Police say Ramos and his mother got into a awful argument after he came home with a "D" in one of his subjects.

That put Kentucky in a nightmare scenario.

Both Barrett and Williamson surpassed Marvin Bagley III's program record for points by a freshman in his debut at 25. That did not go well.

The basketball world was in awe last night, as Duke decimated Kentucky in the season opener.

Reddish took advantage of the space created by his teammates' success while also acting as a disruptive defensive force with four steals. The answer is no, the Jayhawks in November will not be the same team in March, thus the Spartans will find a way as they did in 2012 and 2015 to win their third straight Championship Classic victory against the Jayhawks in a close hard fought victory.

MSU has lost three out of their last four appearances in the Champions Classic, dropping two games to Duke and one to Kentucky. "So it will be a good challenge for our guys". He was efficient with his shooting too, going 13-for-26 from the field.
