Andrew Lincoln has signed on to star as Rick Grimes in three The Walking Dead movies for the AMC network. It feels good to know Lincoln ended his time on the show giggling, given how heartbreaking The Walking Dead can be.
WARNING! Do not proceed if you haven't watched Sunday's episode of The Walking Dead!
This week's big swan song for Andrew Lincoln and the Rick Grimes character he's played since 2010 turned out to be not quite the death finale some thought it would be given how people usually leave the series.
These are the first projects in development from Gimple since being named chief content officer overseeing the "Walking Dead" universe.
Iran seeks European assurances as USA oil sanctions loom
India along with seven other nations have been exempted from sanctions getting imposed against them for importing oil from Iran. But senior administration officials refused to spell out the names on Friday.
Andrew went on to mention the films which would be expanding upon Rick's story. We're going to dig into the past and see old characters. So that was a great gift that we knew early on and that's what we were going towards the whole time. "There's a lot of story to tell". The first of the films, featuring the next step in Rick's story, should be shooting next year.
Production on the first film is to begin next year. For the past six years, each season of The Walking Dead has had 16 episodes, but now we've said goodbye to two prominent characters five episodes in to season 9. "So why don't we try to potentially continue this story in a different way and maybe complete his story so the mothership can continue". "I wake up, the phone rings, he wants to talk about everything on the way to work".
There's a fitting circularity to The Walking Dead's biggest Easter egg - that damned helicopter - being finally addressed by way of the character associated with it since season 1's premiere, allowing What Comes After to stand out as a neat meta-commentary on the show's rich lineage. Whether that change is for better or worse (or the same) remains to be seen, but a newly revealed trailer teases out the next few episodes to come in the now airing ninth season. I mean, you know, in a world where it's impossible to do that nearly all the time, just put it down. And then, end of the day, we get in my vehicle, or I get in my auto and I pull out of the parking lot and my phone rings, and he wants to talk more.
"We are telling Rick's story in another medium, and it's going to be these AMC Studios original films", Gimple told Entertainment Weekly.
