John Cena won't take part in WWE's Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia

John Cena has pulled out of WWE’s controversial Saudi Arabia show

The WWE is moving forward with Crown Jewel despite the ongoing investigation into the death of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi on October 2 at the Saudi consulate in Turkey.

This has been rumored for nearly as long as the Cena story, but PWInsider is saying that Bryan made it clear he wasn't making the trip, and that WWE began making alternate plans as of last week.

It's the question on everyone's mind right now, probably (BSS, anyone?) - is Daniel Bryan actually going to have a match with AJ Styles for the WWE Championship at Crown Jewel this Friday?

Cena was quietly removed from the card and was replaced by Bobby Lashley during WWE's flagship television show "Monday Night Raw", ESPN reported. SmackDown Live is represented by Jeff Hardy vs The Miz and Rey Mysterio vs Randy Orton. He also made a speech in front of 60,000 people at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, according to ESPN. "It's just going to keep growing the relationship with the Saudi WWE Universe is just going to get to be as big as possible - I don't see a limit to be honest". I want to send a genuine thank you to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia ... for its unmatched hospitality that extends far beyond this evening.

Shoaib Malik scored 18 and became the second-highest run-scorer in T20 global history, passing New Zealand's Brendon McCullum . They have suffered four defeats in a row against Pakistan across a combination of the longest and shortest formats.

Khashoggi had been a vocal critic of the current Saudi regime. Earlier this month, Trump said that bin Salman "denied any knowledge" of the killing, which remains under investigation.

WWE had been "monitoring the situation" but then the Connecticut-based company chose to go ahead with the show.

WWE has operated in the Middle East for almost 20 years and has developed a sizeable and dedicated fan base.

Only time will tell if WWE will air videos praising Sadi Arabia during the actual WWE Crown Jewel event, but they always have the ability to shoot promos that aren't shown to American audiences. "Full year 2018 guidance is predicated on the staging of the Riyadh event as scheduled".
