Yesterday, the Dallas Cowboys paid a hefty price for a big-ticket wide receiver and traded a first-round draft pick for Amari Cooper.

Longtime NFL reporter Michael Silver said that the Philadelphia Eagles proposed a trade for Cooper last week that got turned down.

The Cowboys decided Bryant wasn't worth $12.5 million in 2018 after three subpar seasons since signing a big contract following his only All-Pro year in 2014. However, learning a new offense in the middle of the season is a tall task and it will likely take time for Cooper to make an impact. Cooper has just 22 catches for 280 yards and one TD in six games. The Cowboys are going into their bye week, and the Raiders are returning from their break to face Indianapolis at home Sunday. "Chucky" had already traded away the team's best player in Khalil Mack, an elite pass rusher in his prime, hurting the team's chances of winning in the short-term, but giving them a plethora of premium picks with which to rebuild the team in Gruden's image. But it is another example of the Raiders (1-5) looking to the future.

Theresa May has said that 95% of the Brexit deal is done
Theresa May says only 5% of the withdrawal agreement is left to negotiate with Brussels. A backstop proposal could not be time limited as it would not be a backstop.

"I hate to see good players go, but I was on the practice field when Reggie came to me and said the Cowboys would do this for a No. 1 and I said, 'Let's do it, '" Raiders coach Jon Gruden told ESPN's Chris Mortensen. Cooper has 3,183 yards and 19 touchdowns in three-plus seasons. Galloway, drafted eighth overall by the Seahawks in 1995, didn't have a 1,000-yard season in four years with the Cowboys.

Williams did not live up to the expectations after the trade, topping out at 38 catches for 596 yards and seven touchdowns in 2009.
