Luke Shaw: Manchester United horrendous in West Ham defeat

"It was not good enough from a Manchester United team with all the talent we have", said Shaw, 23.

The Red Devils are now in a position of bother in Jose Mourinho's third season at the club, after having got off to a dismal start in the Premier League.

Defending champion Manchester City is already nine points ahead of its 10th-place neighbor, which was runner-up last season. He's there to put a team out that he thinks can win the game.

"When a team that comes with that mentality, fragility, of the bad not the best way to start", said Mourinho, a three-time Premier League victor with Chelsea across two spells.

And with this string of results to start the season, one has to wonder what's next for Mourinho.

United are in an utter state, and if Mourinho is to turn this around he is going to need his entire squad sticking behind him and fighting tooth and nail for the cause.

Tiger Woods' Big Win Leads to 206% Ratings Increase for NBC
Others said they had never witnessed a scene like it in all their years watching golf. "It was a grind out there", Woods said. NBC saw a 206% ratings jump from 2017 after Tiger Woods won the PGA Tour Championship in dramatic, come-from-behind fashion.

"If you want the truth I think it was honestly horrendous".

United, who went two down before halftime with a Victor Lindelof own goal, offered a little resistance with a second-half goal from Marcus Rashford only for their central defence to be sliced open once more nearly immediately as Marko Arnautovic struck the Hammers' third. I think individually and as a team we were bad.

United are anxious to hang on to one of the world's most marketable players but all the signs are that they are sticking with Mourinho for now despite their desperately poor start to the season, which has seen them muster just 10 points from seven games. Marcus Rashford halved the deficit after replacing Lindelof but Marko Arnautovic killed off Mourinho's side in the 74th minute. "And after weeks of analysing and changing opinions with my coaching staff we made the decision that from now Paul is just a player and not a captain".

Left-back Shaw apologised to supporters for United's "awful" performance at the London Stadium and said the players needed to take a hard look at themselves. You look at our team and we had a very strong team.

United now sit 10th in the Premier League, winning three matches, drawing one and losing three. That didn't happen. It's disappointing and a very, very bad day for us. But every player is a different person.
