Despite being up against the National Football League, the season-ending event broadcast on NBC that saw Woods win his first PGA Tour event in more than five years drew a 5.21 overnight rating when Woods was on the course.

Woods' Tour Championship win was not just popular in the Woods household and among the masses of golf fans; it was wildly popular among his fellow players, with many of his Ryder Cup teammates waiting on the 18th green to congratulate him after his win Sunday.

Woods delivered the ideal ending to his fantastic return from four back surgeries on Sunday with a performance that felt like the old days.

One year ago, while recovering from a fourth back surgery, he still had no idea if he could come back to the highest level of golf.

He left the competition feeling hopeless as he built a five-shot lead early and then hung on for a 1-over 71 and a two-shot victory over Billy Horschel.

The victory was Woods' 80th on the PGA Tour and puts him just two wins behind Sam Snead who holds the all-time record with 82.

LPGA players, including former ones such as I, have all been waiting for the rebirth of Tiger Woods.

"The 80 mark is a big number", he said.

With his 43rd birthday approaching in December, Woods' supporters will argue he is back in the race to win five more Majors and overhaul Nicklaus' career tally of 18. I just didn't know whether this would ever happen again. Tiger Woods is a victor again, five years and 50 days since the last time he claimed a tournament trophy, in August of 2013 at Akron.

Kavanaugh Drama Reaches Decisive Showdown as GOP Pushes Nominee
Ford concluded by saying it was "not my responsibility to determine whether Mr Kavanaugh deserves to sit on the Supreme Court". She said that she sent a letter detailing the allegations to Senator Dianne Feinstein but had planned not to come forward.

NBC saw a 206% ratings jump from 2017 after Tiger Woods won the PGA Tour Championship in dramatic, come-from-behind fashion.

Addressing the success of Woods with more seriousness, Furyk added: "Obviously Tiger played so well. Let's see if he wins a major championship next year", said Donegan.

Justin Rose pipped Woods to the overall FedEx Cup title, with the two men gearing up to face off when the Ryder Cup starts in Paris on Friday.

Despite all the turmoil, many female golfers, including me, have impatiently awaited his revival.

"The low point was not knowing if I'd ever be able to live pain-free again", Woods said.

A chaotic celebration that golf hasn't seen even in the best of times.

Others said they had never witnessed a scene like it in all their years watching golf.

"It was a grind out there", Woods said. It reminded him a bit of Jack Nicklaus winning the U.S. Open at Baltusrol in 1980, the crowds invading the course as the Golden Bear wrapped up a victory that defied those skeptics who thought he was all washed up at age 40.

Earlier, overnight co-leader Woods was left to scramble on the front nine as a series of errant drives put him in hard positions, but he scrapped to stay even for the front nine and five-under overall.
