Florence was a hurricane in the Atlantic before it weakened to a tropical storm last week. It was not clear what the system would be named if it became a tropical storm. This disturbance is moving very slow toward the northwest, 3 miles per hour.

Temperatures will rebound over the next few days, but another shot of cool air is in the forecast for the end of the week in the Northern Plains and upper Midwest.

The Ministry reiterated that T&T is not under a Tropical Storm watch/warning at this time, but urged the public to monitor official weather reports in the coming days.

Almost all of the North Carolina and SC coasts are included in the cone of uncertainty for the storm and the latest model Saturday night showed the storm making landfall in Wilmington. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 35 miles mainly to the northwest of the center of circulation. We will have a 40 percent chance for some showers and storms throughout the day. While Kirk will move over warmer water that typically makes tropical systems stronger, because it's moving so quickly, it won't get as much energy and strength from that warm water compared to if it were moving slower. "This new low developed from part of that larger system, but it is not closely enough associated with Florence to be called its direct remnants".
