The NFL championship game is scheduled to take place on February 3rd, 2019 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

According to Variety, which cites two sources that confirm the Adam Levine-led band will perform at the show, now scheduled for February 4, 2019. Given that audiences love surprise moments, Maroon 5 could bring Cardi on the Super Bowl stage with them during their performance.

The Super Bowl Halftime Show has always attracted major talent.

Maroon 5 follows up last year's performer Justin Timberlake.

Man City suffer shock opening Champions League loss against Lyon
With Group F rivals Shakhtar Donetsk and Hoffenheim drawing 2-2 in Ukraine earlier on Wednesday, City are bottom of the group. If Pep had been on the touchline I can't tell you whether we would have won 5-0 or lost 0-3.

The league has not commented on the report.

Adam Levine is going to the Super Bowl! Maroon 5 fits that bill perfectly: A record 13 of its songs have reached No. 1 on Billboard's Adult Pop Songs radio airplay chart. Levine is a judge on the NBC talent show The Voice. In addition, they're not shy about collaborating with other artists. You can make that case, but think about this: Would they have the same worldwide appeal that this band does?

Levine has long expressed his desire to check off the career milestone, telling Howard Stern back in 2015 that the band was on a "short list" of potential performers. They're going to give us all the hits! They have the star power and the musical power to be the big event the Super Bowl halftime show demands.

And for those of you who don't think Maroon 5 is cool enough, or good enough, or too safe?
