Roseanne Barr says African-American comics called her after racist tweet

Roseanne: My character gets killed off 'The Conners' by opioid overdose

Roseanne Might Have Just Spoiled Her Own Death in The Conners

ABC reponded promptly; firing the comedian and cancelling her series, Roseanne.

During the episode, Roseanne says she's taking the medications for pain but begins getting the drugs from friends when her prescription runs out. It's hard-hitting subject matter, and one that is sure to get the audience talking when it's revealed Roseanne ultimately dies because of her addiction.

The spinoff follows after Barr was booted by ABC when she directed racially targeted tweets toward the former adviser to former President Barack Obama, Valerie Jarrett. "I want to stay away from it", Barr reportedly told talk show host Dr. Oz.

"Oh ya, they killed her", said Barr, who previously said she planned on fleeing to Israel when "The Connors" premieres. "But I was never going to have Roseanne die of an opioid overdose".

"I wanted to show that in the show", she said. That's in stark contrast to what she tweeted in May. She also called the storyline of her death disrespectful to her faithful fans "who loved that family" and were invested in the Roseanne character.

ABC had no comment on Barr's revelations when reached by TVLine.

The Conners stars John Goodman, Sara Gilbert, Laurie Metcalf, Lecy Goranson, Michael Fishman, Emma Kenney, Ames McNamara and Jayden Rey. I want to stay away from it.

"I feel that they all lost a really good friend". "I think a lot of people have too".

"We are not gonna have you come on this show and have you defend yourself and have you plea for the American people to forgive you..."

"The Conners" will premiere on Tuesday, October 16 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
