Why no, I will not stop making that joke about the Captain Marvel movie between now and next March, thank you.
In the meantime, we will receive a "Captain Marvel" film, which will focus on Air Force pilot Carol Danvers ( Brie Larson) who becomes an intergalactic hero.
"With [Ant-Man and The Wasp] and now with Captain Marvel and many movies to be announced in the near future, I'm anxious for the time where it's not a novelty that there is a female-led superhero movie, but it is a norm", said Feige in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. Turning Mar-Vell into a mentor that helps Carol understand how to reconcile the alien power within her human self is an interesting take on that, instead of Carol simply being a girlfriend-turned-accidental-bystander. With Captain Marvel preceding Avengers 4, Carol will have an entire movie to establish her strength, even if she's not quite "godlike", as well as her flaws.
However, a couple of those EW exclusive promo images do suggest that her pre-powered life will be documented in some form, most likely via flashback.
Facebook, Twitter fall as they face U.S. Congress
The companies have made many policy changes, and have caught and banned malicious accounts over the past year. Only Dorsey was invited to the House hearing after specific Republican concerns about bias on Twitter.
While we still don't have a trailer - although one will surely arrive in the next few weeks - Entertainment Weekly have unveiled a proper first look at the movie which, while not quite living up to the "break the internet" hype, does give us a much better idea of what to expect from the movie. He went on to say that her humanity is "also the thing that makes her great". Putting Carol on the Kree Starforce is another change from the canon that may strengthen her ties to the Marvel cosmic universe. And she can be headstrong and reckless and doesn't always make the ideal decisions for herself.
Larson is not the only big name set to star in Captain Marvel, as Samuel L. Jackson, Jude Law, and Ben Mendelsohn all have starring roles.
Captain Marvel will suit up in her own solo movie next March, and in the sequel to "Avengers: Infinity War" next May.
