Cowboys offered 2nd-round pick for Seahawks safety Earl Thomas

Broncos vs. Seahawks Quick preview for Week 1

"Within the past week, Dallas upped its offer to the Seahawks for Pro Bowl safety Earl Thomas to a second-round pick, per sources".

Earl Thomas will remain with the Seattle Seahawks for the 2018 season and he will now report. Seattle has reportedly fielded offers. With that being said, the disrespect has been well noted and will not be forgotten.

Thomas is in the final year of a contract that pays $8.5 million, a contract the Seahawks have shown no willingness to extend.

"I've never let me [sic] teammates, city or fans down as long as I've lived and I don't plan on starting this weekend", Thomas wrote.

The Broncos lead the all-time series against their former AFC West foe 34-21, but the last time they beat the Seahawks was in 2010, the year Earl Thomas was drafted by the Seahawks (with a selection that belonged to the Denver Broncos).

By reporting, Thomas won't miss any game checks - $500,000 per game - and he shores up a defence that saw many of its more prominent players depart in the off-season for a variety of reasons.

DeChambeau captures 2nd straight win in Cup playoffs
Mickelson, 48, will be making his 12th straight Ryder Cup appearance. "Bryson was fantastic to play with", Woods said. The final edition of the Dell Technologies Championship will come down to a Monday finish on Labor Day at TPC Boston.

710 ESPN Seattle's Danny O'Neil has noted that while Thomas isn't wrong to seek a new extension, Seattle may be reticent due to a string of bad luck with similar deals. Those are all at team discretion, though, and Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that the Seahawks "did agree to wipe away nearly all of his fines".

The Cowboys do not seem to be keen on surrendering any asset worth more than a third-round pick for Thomas, who may have expressed interest to play for Dallas before, but is only a controllable commodity until the end of the 2018 season.

Thomas has since reported to the Seahawks, but he still doesn't appear to be thrilled with his situation.

Thomas played for 14 games (all starts) for the Seahawks last season and recorded two interceptions and a touchdown to go with 88 total tackles.

However, coach Pete Carroll made it abundantly clear the Seahawks don't intend to trade Thomas now that he's returned from his holdout.
