It has a whole host of new features, including a slick new design.
Google Chrome is a getting massive update today.
Security is another major thrust of Chrome 69. "You can see it across all platforms - desktop, Android, and iOS - where you'll notice more rounded shapes, new icons, and a new colour palette", said Google. The new design was based on Material Design principles. Google has also made changes to the UI to boost your productivity. The look of the browser has been radically changed, with a massive UX change on iOS where the toolbar has now been moved to the bottom so it's way easier to reach.
Speaking of passwords, Chrome can now auto-generate a strong password that will be linked to your Google account. Google says that it will now show you answers directly in the address bar without having to open a new tab - "Rich Results". As most home routers do not use encrypted communications for management tasks, the researchers were able to exploit this automatic credential re-entering to both steal the router login credentials and use them to capture the Wi-Fi network password (PSK) with only a single click required by the user for the attack to succeed.
To make Chrome more personal you can now create and manage shortcuts to your favourite websites directly from the new tab page - simply open a new tab and "Add shortcut". It's far from flawless, of course, and the Chrome development team knows it.
There are some lesser glamorized under the hood tweaks that should help Google's browser continue its web leading presence such as site isolation, promotion of HTTPS secure sites, defenses against Spectre attacks and built in support of VR and AR technologies. This leaves only HTTP sites marked as "not secure".

Nevertheless, this change should help users steer away from password reuse, which is now a big problem.
The search and address bar is now more convenient.
The end of the URL as we know it?
It is not yet clear how the team will do this, but it will involve helping people pay attention to the elements they should, such as site identity indicators. It's fast, and it's always receiving powerful new features. It is hoped to disable Flash by default in Chrome 76 (July 2019), and remove it from Chrome for good with version 87 (in December 2020) to coincide with Adobe's own plans to retire the plugin. However you feel, Google is giving Chrome a major visual update to celebrate this milestone.
While Google's release notes are usually short and not very descriptive when it comes to new features or changes, it is different this time around thanks to the anniversary.
