New Nvidia gaming chips aim to boost realism of graphics

Nvidia announces new raytracing-focused RTX 2080, 2080 Ti graphics cards

Nvidia reveals new RTX GPUs, priced from $600 to $1,200, and ready to pre-order now

Nvidia's G-Sync feature means titles running under the card will have tear-free gameplay, refresh rates of up to 240 Hz, HDR, and 4K.

The core foundation of the GeForce RTX 20 series is the new NVIDIA RTX platform which is a new hybrid rendering engine that allows for impressive results. The possibilities include deferred shading, and real-time transparency and translucency effects with objects in motion.

Previously, ray tracing - which is often referred to as the "holy grail" of graphics - was so computationally intense that most games relied on less accurate statistical light models to create the shadows and reflections see in a graphics. The chipmaker disclosed better-than-expected earnings of $1.76 per share on revenues of $3.12 billion - up 40% year-over-year - compared with Wall Street analysts' estimates of $1.66 earnings per share on revenues of $3.1 billion.

The 2070 accelerates real-time ray tracing up to 6 GigaRays per second - five times that of the Titan X, Huang noted.

Equivalent aggregate math operations contributed by the Turing Shaders, CUDA Cores, Tensor Cores, and RT Cores needed to render RTX graphics.

Trump Calls Mueller's Russia Probe a 'National Disgrace'
Trump lashed out about the report on Twitter, saying that The Times had falsely insinuated that McGahn had "turned" on him. Dean, then the White House counsel to President Richard Nixon and now a CNN contributor, played during Watergate .

With the new Turing GPU based GeForce RTX 20 series lineup, NVIDIA is going to offer two key things, first is a brand new dual-axial fan-based cooling solution and the other thing is a factory overclock out of the box. It also has a 185W TDP rating.

Even stepping up to 1440p might be too much for the RTX 2080 Ti - imagine what that'll do to the $699 RTX 2080 with 20% less ray tracing power. All the new GPUs will feature at least 8GB GDDR6 memory on a 256-bit bus, and will have 185W TDP rating.

Pre-orders on nvidia.com and at over 100 participating partners starts today for GeForce RTX 2080 Ti and GeForce RTX 2080, with availability starting on September 20. The GeForce RTX 2070 will follow in October. The RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2080 will be "seeded immediately" after tomorrow's NVIDIA's event, however. Zotac has not officially confirmed these prices.

Nvidia has finally launched its latest generation of GPUs from the new RTX 2000 series for gamers.

Asus, EVGA, Gigabyte, MSI, PNY, and Zotac are all announcing GeForce RTX Cards, and they're available to pre-order right now. Huang promised that the cards will run whisper-quiet even when fully stressed and overclocked. These cards also feature USB Type-C connectors on the rear in support of the upcoming VirtualLink standard to deliver power as well as graphics to VR headsets with a single cable.
