Iran's economy is already suffering from the sanctions that Washington re-imposed after walking away from the nuclear agreement, and the US has threatened to punish companies from other nations that continue doing business with Iran.
When the administration announced it was withdrawing from the Iran nuclear deal, it imposed several new sanctions, including ones that will require all countries to eliminate Iranian oil imports by November.
Crude oil prices sank Monday on reports the US will take a softer stance on countries that import oil from Iran after sanctions on Iran's energy sector go back into effect.
Thus, States will enact more sanctions against Iran in early August, and European companies will also be affected by these sanctions.
However, a day later, the Iranian embassy issued a statement, clarifying that Tehran will do its best to ensure security of oil supply to India.
