French striker Antoine Griezmann has announced he is staying at Atletico Madrid in a prolonged interview style show aired tonight.

The France striker had been heavily linked with a €100 million (£88 million) move to Barcelona this summer, having past year been a reported target for Manchester United.

However, Griezmann, who is now on World Cup duty with France, made the announcement to stay with Atletico on Spanish television outlet Movistar+.

The forward's attentions will now switch to France's World Cup campaign, with the striker set to spearhead Didier Deschamps' attack in Russian Federation.

Griezmann scored 29 goals in all competitions for Atletico last season, helping them finishing second in La Liga and winning the Europa League.

The best moments from the Warriors Parade
Warriors kept the Cavs at bay in each of their showdown tie, despite talisman LeBron James hitting top form. During the Dubs' championship parade in Oakland Tuesday, however, Myers backtracked from that statement.

He added: "I feel there are things to do with Atletico".

As we reported, the 27-year-old apparently recorded two versions of the video, one with him stating he was leaving for Barcelona and one confirming he was staying.

When asked if he will leave Liverpool, Salah told Egyptian TV channel ON ENT: "All that I can say is that I'm happy to be here and I've adapted to the prevailing atmosphere".

Griezmann had been continually linked with a move to Catalunya, while he kept a tight silence on the subject throughout France's World Cup preparations.

However, Griezmann - whose brace against Marseille secured a Europa League triumph for Diego Simeone's side in May - has elected to stay put, committing his future to Atleti as they look to secure a Champions League title.
