At its essence, the issue stems not only from stopping Switch players playing with those on PS4, but also from Sony locking accounts created on the PS4 to their platform. PC gamers could have an edge over console players because they use a mouse instead of having to use a joystick.

The biggest video game event of the year featured plenty of major game announcements throughout the week, from the world's top game makers including Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Bethesda, Square Enix, Ubisoft, and others. Neither the Fortnite website nor Epic Customer Service are able to change this. Here are just a few of the user responses directed at Sony. According to The Verge, Sony hasn't let its PlayStation 4 gamers compete against Switch players.

PlayStation thinks you have enough people to play games with already, so you can't possibly need cross-platform multiplayer to play with someone on Nintendo Switch or Xbox One.

Sony does allow compatibility with the PC and iOS versions of the game, indicating that the Xbox/Switch block it is a strategic choice rather than a technical impossibility. Whichever way you slice it, Sony's stance on this is, rightly or wrongly, landing it in hot water, and the above statement will nearly certainly add fuel to the fire rather than extinguish it. Sony, who also blocked cross-platform play with their system and the Xbox, made a decision to block the Switch as well. Not allowing me to sign-in to Fortnite Switch with my Epic account because it's linked to PS4 is tone deaf and points more to fear than market dominance. You may end up having to if it's important to you to be able to play anywhere, but this isn't a choice players should be having to make, not in this day and age.

Judge rules AT&T can purchase Time Warner
The judge's ruling is being seen by tech and telecom giants as a green light to pursue a slew of major media acquisitions. The Justice Department "did a good job just focusing on this merger. and how it would be abusive, not just how bad".

It's no secret that Sony are against cross-platform play between consoles, going so far as to hide its reasoning for not supporting the idea behind technological shortcomings and the idea that it needs to protect its player-base from the scourge of the internet. That's unfortunate for anyone who wanted to play Fortnite with their friends regardless of what console they own. This means that a Fortnite account, once logged-in on a PlayStation 4 is then forever tied to that platform. "I look at that and I wish people could get to play together".

There are signs the backlash could be affecting Sony financially.

That's a great response to a question nobody asked.
