Google Pixel 3 XL images reportedly leak out, show off a notch

Leaked images of Google Pixel 3 XL surface online

This week, however, live images of the Pixel 3 XL's prototype have been revealed, throwing more light on what we should expect from the Google flagship.

The pictures come from XDA Developers member meraz9000, purporting to show off a prototype version of the Pixel 3 XL.

Update 5/30/2018 at 5:15 P.M. EST: The article below details information that suggests the upcoming Google Pixel 3 (or Pixel 3 XL) will have a notched display. Expect the Pixel 3 XL, which is expected to arrive in October, to feature a protruding single-lens rear camera, a USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. At the back, we see a single rear camera with another sensor placed between the flash and the lens.

Trade spat looms as Trump heads for hostile G7
European and Canadian leaders have appeared to band together, ready to stand against Trump at the G7 summit. The European Union plans to follow through on its threat to slap new tariffs on US goods.

The phone may have come out as clear as day, but there's still fog around whether the Pixel 3 XL has a glass body for its industrial design rather than polycarbonate or metal. Additionally, you can see the power button and volume rocker that are in an nearly identical position as last year's and confirmation that Google will; unsurprisingly not be bringing back the headphone jack.

Other news this week was our posting of a big camera shootout between the Pixel 2 XL, OnePlus 6, and LG G7. The thirst for Google's own phone series to finally feature wireless charging has swollen to top levels, mostly because these super-techies view the Android hardware standard bearer as repugnant not to stand with Qi or Powermat or any sort of wireless charging at all. This means no monochrome, optical zoom, or wide angle shot options for the Pixel 3, but that hasn't stopped Google phones from being some of the best snappers in the past. He couldn't confirm whether wireless charging was present, but we dug through Android P beta 2 (Developer Preview 3) and found evidence for wireless charging docks, which we believe are for the Google Pixel 3, so make of that as you will. Google is also said to be working on a third mid-segment Pixel smartphone, which is codenamed "Bonito".

That's it for now, but we're hopefully going to see more of this soon. The phone will not have an edge-to-edge screen or notch.
