Klay Thompson expects to play in Game 2 of NBA Finals with sore ankle

Their ball movement could have been set to music.

The first cut of the NBA Finals was the deepest.

"Every shot that he takes that goes in, he has the business of making them". He suffered the injury during the first quarter of Game 1 of the Finals, when JR Smith slid into him on a play.

- The Golden State Warriors cruised to a victory on Sunday night beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 122 to 103.

"I was just thinking I didn't have as many nerves coming into this Final series as I did the last three years. But we have to start the game better, being more physical, and we didn't do that tonight to start".

It has been a while since their stars all operated this fluidly and in unison with the role players.

3 - The Warriors' magic number this postseason is 25, as in assists.

The game started with Smith getting loud cheers from the Warriors fans, who booed him mercilessly in Game 1 after Smith slipped and fell into Klay Thompson's leg, sending the Warriors guard to the locker room briefly with an injury. He had played only three minutes in the conference finals against Houston, when Golden State went with smaller lineups to match the Rockets' perimeter shooters. Curry eclipsed former NBA sharpshooter Ray Allen for most 3-pointers in an NBA Finals game after he made eight in Game 2 of the 2010 NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Cavaliers coach, Tyronn Lue, paid tribute to his players for keeping the game close until the fourth-quarter but admitted the Warriors were the better team. He's now at 1,327, 10 more than Kareem, and trails only Jerry West (1,679). In a 124-114 overtime win in Game 1, he went 11-for-23 shooting, including 5-for-11 from three-point range for 29 points along with six rebounds and nine assists over 46 minutes. Thompson had 20 points.

Shaun Livingston and Draymond Green filled the Andre Iguodala-shaped hole in the Warriors' defense.

But it's the Curry flurry that left the arena buzzing.

Well Golden State fans appreciated Smith's blunder so much they gave him a standing ovation ahead of the second game. "Those guys, you just knew they were going to be present".

They say that time heals all wounds.

Cavaliers: James' first-half line: 15 points, eight assists, seven rebounds, two steals. But Thompson improved overnight Saturday into Sunday.

There's only one way to respond to that: Uh-oh.

Can the Cavaliers bounce back?

It appears the Warriors aren't toying around any longer.
