Samsung Galaxy J6 with Infinity Display Launch on May 21: Features, Specifications

Samsung is hosting a press conference in Mumbai on May 21 where it will launch the Galaxy J6 and possibly a couple of more phones from the Galaxy A line-up.

But a number of modest (and modestly priced) Galaxy J-series devices are reportedly set to see daylight starting next week, and we have even more information today about three of them. Moreover, at least one of the phones, the Galaxy J6, will start selling in India from May 22 although it isn't clear if Samsung will be selling it from both online and offline channels or via one of the two.

The tweet reads "The Samsung #GalaxyJ6 is coming soon with state-of-the-art design and features that will make your life truly infinite. It's coming to take you #ToInfinityAndMore".

The images accessed by the folks over at The Mobile Indian clearly reveal the maximum retail price (MRP) of both the upcoming Galaxy smartphones.

We already know that the Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6 Plus smartphones feature Infinity displays and the Galaxy J4 and Galaxy J6 are also expected to come with Infinity displays as well.

According to the leaked specifications, Galaxy J6 will have a 5.6-inches display with an HD+ resolution (720p) which will be 1480×720 pixels. Based on the photo shared, the Galaxy J6 will not have any side bezels, though it will continue to have the top and bottom bezel. The smartphone will Infinity Display with minimal bezels and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9.

Camera-wise, the phone may sport a 13 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera with an LED flash.

Under-the-hood, it will come with Samsung's proprietary Exynos 7870 octa-core processor, which can clock CPU speed up to 1.6GHz.

The device sports rear-facing fingerprint sensor and also supports face unlock.

While some key specs of the Galaxy J6 are yet to be confirmed, we do know nearly everything about the Galaxy A6+ as it was made official globally earlier this month.
