Witnesses said the auto "did not brake or take any action to avoid the collision" but the driver has since admitted to police that she had been looking at her phone prior to the collision.

In one of those accidents, a woman in Utah broke her foot after she slammed into a truck when her vehicle allegedly ran a red light while it was in autopilot mode.
The NTSB and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration are also looking into the performance of the company's Autopilot system in the March crash of a Tesla Model X on a California highway.
