Report: Rodney Hood expressed remorse, won't be disciplined by Cavs

Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue attempted to sub in Hood with 7:38 left and the Cavaliers leading by 30 points. Hood, who is averaging 4.6 points on 39.6 percent shooting in the postseason probably won't play big minutes, but you can probably expect him to enter the game when called upon.

Acquired from the Utah Jazz at the National Basketball Association trade deadline, Hood mostly has been a disappointment in Cleveland.

Rodney Hood hasn't clicked with the Cavaliers offense since joining Cleveland in February, and on Monday night his frustrations boiled over to the point where he refused to enter the game in the midst of a fourth quarter blowout against the Raptors.

"This is the playoffs", an anonymous Cleveland player reportedly told The Athletic.

It's an odd scene to watch play out at this point in the postseason, but it's also easy to see why Hood has been frustrated with his role on the Cavaliers of late.

The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Toronto Raptors 128-93 in Game 4 on Monday to hand Toronto a sweep. They did so without an appearance from Rodney Hood.

Hood only played seven minutes in the Cavs' Game 7 victory over in, and played a reduced role in the second round against Toronto.

While The Athletic reported that several of Hood's teammates were "angered" by his decision and that the organization could consider suspending him, a team source told ESPN on Tuesday that suspending Hood was "not even a thought".

The Cavaliers will face the victor of the Boston-Philadelphia series in the Eastern Conference Finals. But the pending restricted free agent refused, despite the efforts of his teammates to "talk sense" into him.
