Apple is now replacing batteries for cheaper MacBook Pro laptops

Apple Launching Battery Replacement Program For 13 inch Mac Book Pro Laptops

PSA: Apple Announces 13-inch MacBook Pro (non Touch Bar) Battery Replacement Program

The company on its website said that a component may fail which further causes the built-in battery on these models to swell. "Affected units were manufactured between October 2016 and October 2017 and eligibility is determined by the product serial number", it added. You would get to know if yo need a battery replacement or not. Apple said, "the flaw that has been reported in some 13-inch MacBook Pros without Touch Bars, is not a safety issue".

Customers are told to enter in their serial number at this page to see if their unit is eligible. And, you can get the replacement just by visiting any of the authorized service provider or any nearest retail store. If the system says yes, you can go ahead and contact to the nearby Apple's official Service Center. It is worth noting that you should backup all your data before giving it for the replacement.

Britain's Queen Elizabeth II celebrates 92nd birthday
She became Queen at the age of 25 and is the longest reigning monarch Britain has had, surpassing Queen Victoria's six-decade reign.

This doesn't affect the standard warranty of the laptop, Apple notes in its documentation, and if your computer has been damaged in some way that prevents the battery being replaced, that will have to be fixed first - and that fix may incur a cost, before you get your free battery swap. This program doesn't extend the standard warranty coverage of the notebook.

There's no need for anyone to rush off to Apple immediately, although it's probably a good idea to replace a swelling battery sooner rather than later; Apple says that the batter replacement scheme will be offered over the next five years. In some cases, there may be an additional cost associated with the fix.
