After a much-needed timeout, EA is set to revive microtransactions in Star Wars: Battlefront II on April 18th. The return of Crystals completes Battlefront II's long, sometimes-painful overhaul. Plus, if you want, you can use the play-generated Credits currency to pick up these "Appearances" instead.

As mentioned, the new update will also let you play as those loveable (?) scamps the Ewoks in a new limited-time mode, Ewok Hunt. The ambush begins as the Ewok attacks the unsuspecting stormtroopers, using spears, Wisties, and whatever abilities they can muster to take down the intruders.

"Ewok Hunt" allows you to start off as either an Ewok or a stormtrooper, with your objective playing out differently depending on what side of the battle you're on. Crystals will strictly be used to unlock cosmetic skins, such as Endor Leia and Endor Han, which are two of the 50 new personalization items being introduced in this latest update. Star Wars Battlefront II would provide free DLC as to not separate its playerbase.

Star Wars Battlefront II was sharply criticized for a system where character progression and weapons could only be acquired from loot boxes, which, originally, could be purchased with real money.

Congress, BJP lock horns, indulge in slugfest over reaction to rapes
This sheer ignorance of burning issues like Kathua rape case and Unnao gangrape where victims were minors is surely disappointing for the entire nation.

Night on Endor launches on April 18th on all platforms, check out the screenshots below.

The addition of new appearances are some of the most requested items to date amongst the Battlefront II Community and we're pleased to confirm that more are on the way, starting this month. Frankly, Ewok Hunt sounds like a whole lot of fun and we can't wait to try it out. "We'll continue to improve the game, we'll continue to push on these things, and we'll have to be very cautious with what this means for future products". Following backlash (and maybe some persuasion from Disney) EA suspended all microtransactions within the game.

However now that we know crystals are coming back for cosmetics only, will fans be pleased with the news too?
